MISC:One third of Finland's length is within the Arctic Circle. There
are more than 60,000 lakes in Finland. Helsinki is the northernmost
capital on the European continent. Finland was the second country
(after New Zealand) to give women the right to vote. The terrain is
mostly low, flat to rolling plains interspersed with low hills. 76% of
the land is forested, 8% is arable. Permanently wet ground covers
about 30% of the land. Uses metric system. Member of UN since 1955.
